This is an opportunity for you or your business to shine as a supporter of creative industry and thoughtful development that honors our sense of place. The Symposium is expected to draw about 150 people, including local attendees as well as front range and regional visitors. Some will come to experience North Fork Valley at the peak of summer ag production; others for our line-up of talented speakers; and some to learn how to diversify our rural economy beyond extractive industries and conventional agriculture. Many attendees will stay in local accommodations, dine out, and patronize area businesses. The weekend will include films, music, live art, and tours of the valley to visit renewable energy projects, art installations, farms, and wineries.

The Symposium is the culmination of the INSPIRED: Art at Work project, conceptualized by Elsewhere Studios, which brings two local and two visiting artists to create socially-engaged projects in July and August of 2018. Working closely with scientists, policy-makers, and five local partner organizations, Citizens for a Healthy CommunityWestern Slope Conservation CenterFarm and Food AllianceSolar Energy International, and North Fork Valley Creative Coalition, the artists will create socially-engaged works that explore and address selected environmental, cultural, social, and economic issues vital to preserving the natural world and the quality of life and sense of place in the North Fork Valley.
